History of the Tooth Fairy

Clayberry Cottage Ceramic Tooth Fairy Box

When your little one has just experienced losing a tooth, you are both overwhelmed and excited. Why would the child be excited? A visit from the tooth fairy, of course. The tooth fairy is a well-known child hood character that can take something scary, like losing a tooth, and transform it into something magical, fun and exciting!

The tooth fairy began some place in Europe. It was European tradition that the lost tooth should be buried in the ground. According to this myth, the adult teeth would only begin to grow once the baby teeth were buried.

With time, this story modified and children began placing their missing tooth under the pillow at night before bed. It is believed that a tooth fairy will exchange the missing tooth with a reward during their sleep.

Because the tooth fairy is such a popular character, parents like to purchase special boxes for the children to place under their pillows!

As a mom, I’m always afraid that an outing will turn out into a disaster if my diaper bag is not fully prepared. Here is a list of diaper bag MUST HAVES:

1) At least 5 extra diapers. I don’t care if I’m going to the gas station, I always have plenty of diapers!

2) Wipes.  Generally an entire pack!

3) Spare clothing. I bring an extra outfit for each of my children (ages 7 months and 3 years old)

4) Toys. This is a requirement for any restaurant. Distraction is key! Bring toys and books to keep your little ones occupied. Especially while waiting for food!

5) Snacks. My diaper bag is always stocked filled with fruit snacks, baby puffs and other little snacks to keep little ones happy.

6) Diaper Cream. I never know when a little rash might occur so a spare diaper cream is always recommended.

7) Hand Sanitizer. For the germ free mommy – such as myself!

8) Spare bottles and formula – again, even if it’s a quick trip to the gas station, I always have a spare bottle ready just in case.

9) Pacifiers – If your baby likes them, make sure to pack extras!

This is just my list of essentials for my diaper bag – feel free to comment or add anything that you think will help! Check out Bellacroft’s exclusive collection of Diaper Bags for mom!
